9 Concerts to Put On Your Radar in WNY This November

Beach Slang is coming to Mohawk Place on Nov. 26

The seasons are changing. Days are getting shorter, the beers at local breweries are getting darker and we’re trading our backyard grills for Instant Pots. Nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain, a wise man once said.

Fortunately, we have a cornucopia of live music to get us through the change. This month’s rundown includes everything from a local record release show to 90s hip-hop icons.

(Some of these shows may be sold out, but obviously you can still find tickets on StubHub, Craigslist, Facebook, TikTok, Roblox, Twitch, Pied Piper, etc. C’mon guys, don’t @ us.)

1) Taking Back Sunday

DATE: Nov. 1st (+ October 31st)

LOCATION: Buffalo RiverWorks

COST: $35 (in advance), $160 (VIP/Backstage)

If you were into emo in the late 90s/ early 2000s, you probably blogged a lot about TBS in your LiveJournal. Easy to dismiss as a fad band, TBS has lasted 20 years and they’re celebrating that feat by playing their entire debut album “Tell All Your Friends” on this tour. MORE INFO

2) Bold Folly + Aircraft + The Molice

DATE: Nov. 1st

LOCATION: Nietzsche’s

COST: $7

It’s been a while since we featured an all-local lineup on the concert rundown, and this murderer’s row of local talent is just too good to ignore. This Nietzsche’s show is a celebration of the release of a new Bold Folly record, so bring a few extra bucks for the merch table. MORE INFO

3) Blue October + Longwave

DATE: Nov. 6th

LOCATION: Town Ballroom

COST: $28 (ga)

Blue October is another band from the 90s still playing today that deserves a lot of your time. Longwave were supposed to be “the next Strokes” but don’t let that old label fool you: The band writes catchy indie pop that fits perfectly on the radio. MORE INFO

4) Collective Soul

DATE: Nov. 8th

LOCATION: Fallsview Casino

COST: $50.85 – $73.45

Let’s face it – 90s grunge bands are basically classic rock. Most of us grew up with Collective Soul playing on the car radio and songs like “Heavy” are part of the soundtrack of our lives. MORE INFO

5) Highly Suspect

DATE: Nov. 11th

LOCATION: Buffalo RiverWorks

COST: $25 (general admission) – $50 (VIP)

‘Highly Suspect’ is one of those band names that just lends itself to bad puns. But we’re not gonna go there. Instead, we’ll just say we very much believe you’re interested in seeing this band at RiverWorks. MORE INFO

6) moe.

DATES: Nov. 14th – 16th

LOCATION: Town Ballroom

COST: $37.50

moe. have been killing it on the jam band circuit since the early 90s, and, fun fact, they’re a Buffalo band that played its earliest shows at Broadway Joe’s on Main Street. Expect this three-night residency at Town Ballroom to be a celebration of the band’s entire catalog. MORE INFO

7) Bone Thugs N Harmony

DATE: Nov 21st

LOCATION: Town Ballroom

COST: $27.50 (ga), $100 (VIP)

If classic hip-hop were a radio station format, which it should be, Bone Thugs would always be in heavy rotation. See you at the crossroads. MORE INFO

8) Beach Slang

DATE: Nov. 26th

LOCATION: Mohawk Place

COST: $20 (adv)

Beach Slang is another one of those bands that should be a lot more popular than they are. This intimate appearance at Mohawk Place is one of the top shows of the fall. MORE INFO

9) Lowest of the Low

DATE: Nov. 27th

LOCATION: Town Ballroom

COST: $32 (ga)

Lowest of the Low may be from Ontario, but we’ve been singing their songs here in WNY for the past 25 years.  MORE INFO
